6 January 2013, Aberystwyth, Wales, UK. The seaside town of Aberystwyth on Cardigan Bay, still reeling from substantial damage caused by huge waves over several days, was battered again at high tide on 6 January. Gusts of 70 mph and a huge swell caused waves to break over sea defences, residents of seafront buildings to be evacuated, and the wholw promenade to be cordoned-off by police and council workers.
